CIS countries agree to create unified air defense system

The agreement, which focuses on the development and funding of the air defense system, will be implemented in stages, with a goal of strengthening the collective defense capabilities of the CIS countries. The meeting was chaired by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and attended by representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The establishment of the unified air defense system aims to ensure the security of the region against external air threats and increase cooperation on military defense matters. The decision marks a significant step in the development of joint defense initiatives within the CIS framework.

According to reports from the meeting, the initiative is scheduled to be implemented starting in 2025. This collaborative effort will also focus on financing the system's creation and ongoing development to enhance air defense capacities for all participating states.
