Uzbekistan reports 879 COVID-19, 529 pneumonia cases

On July 28, 879 people were diagnosed with coronavirus, 529 with pneumonia in Uzbekistan. This is an absolute anti-record recorded since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of registered coronavirus cases has reached 127,506.

Reportedly, 140 COVID-19 cases were registered in the city of Tashkent, 90 – in Karakalpakstan, 32 – in Andijan, 16 – in Bukhara, 98 – in Jizzakh, 27 – in Kashkadarya, 15 – in Navoi, 28 – in Namangan, 82 – in Samarkand, 22 – in Syrdarya, 95 – in Surkhandarya, 75 – in Fergana, 50 – in Khorezm and 109 – in Tashkent region.

In addition, 529 people were diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday.

This is the highest daily rate during the pandemic for coronavirus cases, an absolute anti-record even when pneumonia cases are added (total +1,408). 

Also, 6 patients died yesterday. The official death toll is at 859.

As of July 28, the number of recovered stands at 121,718 (+573).

As the press service of the Health Ministry reported, on July 28, more than 218 thousand doses of vaccine were administered in the regions of Uzbekistan, and so far the number of people fully vaccinated against coronavirus has exceeded 1 million 149 thousand people.

A total of 6,982,431 doses of the vaccine have been used so far. More than 4.5 million Uzbeks received at least the first dose.
