Per capita total income increased by 16.1% in nominal terms and by 5.9% in real terms. As a result, the average annual per capita income, which stood at 20 million UZS in 2023, increased to 24.1 million UZS in 2024.
Regional breakdown of income
The highest income levels were recorded in Tashkent city (60,594,400 UZS), Navoi region (38,112,300 UZS), Bukhara region (27,508,000 UZS), and Tashkent region (25,123,300 UZS). In the capital and these three regions, per capita total income was higher than the national average.
The lowest figures were observed in Namangan region (16,849,000 UZS), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (16,858,000 UZS), and Surkhandarya region (17,880,000 UZS).
The highest real per capita income growth was recorded in Tashkent city (15.4%), Navoi region (7.9%), and Tashkent region (6.4%). In contrast, Surkhandarya (0.2%), Namangan (0.5%), and Fergana (1.1%) regions saw minimal increases in real income.
Composition of total population income
The significant increase in total population income in 2024 was primarily driven by three key components:
- Income from salaried employment, which accounted for 27.9% of total income;
- Income from self-employment, comprising 35%;
- Income from transfers, making up 26% of the total.
According to data from January to December 2024, the nominal growth rate of income from transfers increased by 13.7% compared to the same period in 2023. During this period, the share of transfers in total population income stood at 26%.
