Branch of the University of Pisa to open in Tashkent

The agreement was signed by the rector of the University of Pisa Paolo Mancarella, the rector of the University of Geological Sciences Bobir Islamov, and deputy chairman of the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan Azam Kadirkhodjayev.

The mayor of Pisa and the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy also attended the ceremony.

The University of Pisa, located in Pisa (Tuscany, Italy), is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its history began in the 11th century, and on September 3, 1343, the institution received the status of a university.

The University of Pisa has 11 faculties, and the total number of students is about 57 thousand people.

It is also a part of the Pisa University System, which currently includes three educational institutions.
