“It’s a shame. Well, the head of a ministry or organization may have studied in America, Germany, or the United Kingdom. He knows foreign languages very well but doesn’t speak Uzbek. It is a shame to work as a leader at a government body not knowing the state language,” he said.
According to Kirgizboyev, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke in Uzbek at the UN session and set an example for all. Today’s leaders must draw conclusions from that.
Kirgizboyev added that a relevant draft resolution on this issue has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the project, all staff will be tested on the level of knowledge of the state language before being hired for management level. The decision is expected to take effect on April 1.
