In a video posted by the embassy, the diplomatic mission staff, including Ambassador Jonathan Henick, tried to guess the meaning of everyday expressions in the Uzbek language.
It is commendable that they successfully deciphered the meaning of most expressions which are considered rather difficult for those who do not know Uzbek well.
Expression is a word or group of words used in a particular situation or by particular people. It could be interpreted wrong if translated word-by-word.
Uzbekistan celebrates Uzbek Language Day on October 21.
