Uzbekistan appoints tourism brand ambassador in Latvia

At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riga, a roundtable discussion was held to highlight the country's tourism potential.

The event brought together executives from major Latvian travel agencies and representatives of companies operating in the tourism sector.

Participants were introduced to the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan titled ā€œSamarkand – the Tourism Gateway to the New Uzbekistan.ā€ Guests also learned about other historic destinations such as Bukhara, Tashkent, Khorezm, and several other culturally significant sites.

Special attention was given to the current state and future prospects of tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. It was emphasized that such events help strengthen friendly ties between the two nations.

Latvian tourism professionals praised the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at developing the tourism industry.

During the event, a special certificate was awarded to Vladimir Koryagin, who was officially appointed as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in Latvia.

As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to boost tourist flows from the Baltic states to Uzbekistan, including plans to organize a familiarization tour (info-tour) in the near future for tour companies and representatives of the tourism sector from these countries.
