Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Government officials delaying digitalization are opposing openness

The president stressed that competitiveness in the service sector is directly tied to the level of digitalization across regions and industries. He tasked ministries and committees with advancing digitalization, including directing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice to ensure the efficient processing of electronic visas.

The Cadastral Agency has been tasked with swiftly completing the unified registry of real estate addresses. Additionally, it was noted that the Ministry of Transport has been slow in launching a unified platform that would enable passengers to purchase tickets for all types of public transport.

"I repeat: Any leader who delays digitalization is standing against our openness policy," stated the President.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been directed to set specific KPIs, clear tasks, and strict deadlines for each minister and regional governor regarding digital transformation.

For instance, the Tourism Committee must develop a unified platform that allows tourists to book hotels and resorts, purchase airline and railway tickets, buy museum and theater tickets, and hire guides and translators remotely.

Likewise, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice must ensure that electronic visas for entering Uzbekistan can be processed within three days.
