Since 2022, Vohid Ibodullayev had held this position before stepping down. Now, Khidirov will take over, overseeing construction, accessibility initiatives, communications, utilities, ecology, and landscaping under the leadership of the region's new governor, Erkinjon Turdimov.

Before this appointment, Khidirov served as the Director of Marketing and Services at the Uzrailpass JSC, part of the Uzbekistan Railways.

It is also worth noting that Akmaljon Mahmudaliyev, who had been the head of Syrdarya region since November 2022, resigned in January 2025. Erkinjon Turdimov was appointed as the acting governor of the region.
