On December 24, a massive fire broke out at a farm in the village of Malorechensky, claiming the lives of five Uzbek citizens. Following the incident, the farm owner, Sobina, and the director of "Mir" enterprise, Vladimir Chayka, were detained.

They face charges for "providing services that do not meet safety standards," "negligence," "organizing illegal migration," and "violating fire safety regulations." Sobina has denied the charges.

Sobina's brother stated that they have paid 500,000 rubles in compensation to the children of two of the workers who died in the fire. However, he claimed they were unable to transfer funds to the other workers due to banking restrictions.

As previously reported, the fire at a livestock farm in Tatarstan on December 24 resulted in the deaths of five Uzbek nationals. Another 33 people managed to evacuate the building safely. Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the identities of the deceased were being verified and arrangements were being made to repatriate their remains.
