Flood risk declared in four regions of Uzbekistan due to heavy rainfall

The downpours are expected to lead to an accumulation of rainwater, increasing the risk of flash floods, particularly in the foothills and mountainous areas.

The regions under the highest risk include districts in Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan provinces. According to the forecast, the following areas may experience flash floods:

•  Tashkent Region: Ohangaron, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Orta Chirchik, and Yukori Chirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmalyk.
•  Namangan Region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgon districts.
•  Fergana Region: Sokh, Shokhimardon, Fergana, and Besharyk districts.
•  Andijan Region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.

Residents living in these areas, along with visitors and drivers traveling through mountainous regions, are urged to take precautionary measures to ensure their safety.

“Uzhydromet” highlighted that rainwater accumulation across the country could lead to localized flooding, affecting several parts of Uzbekistan.
