Employees of the Fergana Regional SSS Department detained a member of the religious extremist movement “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami” A.A.

It turned out that the detained A. A., a resident of the Altiarik district, while working in Russia began to show interest in Islam and listened to various religious lectures on the Internet. These were video and audio materials from supporters of the religious-terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, aimed at changing the current system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as various extremist ideas.

It was established that A.A. corresponded in the Telegram messenger with another member of the organization and received a “virtual education” on banned books, after which he became involved in religious fanaticism and supported his ideas. He also swore an oath of allegiance to this organization and paid membership fees from his monthly income, actively promoting the ideas of religious fanaticism on social networks.

Returning to the Altiarik district, A. A. created various groups on Telegram, where he preached the ideas of fanaticism, and added all his acquaintances to this group. Continuing his activities, he attracted several people to the group and distributed materials of the religious movement.

Later, the extremist’s criminal activities were exposed. Evidence was found on his phone.

By a court decision, A.A. was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
