Court verdict on blogger Olimjon Haydarov’s case remains unchanged
He was imprisoned for 8 years. The appellate court rejected the appeal against this sentence.

On December 28, the appeal of blogger Olimjon Haydarov’s appeal was considered by the criminal trial panel of Fergana regional court.
According to the press secretary of the Supreme Court, the judgment of the Fergana district court on December 1, 2023 was left unchanged and the appeal was not satisfied.
It should be recalled that on December 1, the Fergana district criminal court announced the verdict in the criminal case against blogger and public activist Olimjon Haydarov.
Haydarov was found guilty of committing the crimes under Article 139 (defamation), Part 2, Part 3, Paragraph “a”, Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Paragraph “a” and Article 165 (extortion), Part 2, Paragraph “b” of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment, and it was decided to serve the sentence in colonies of general order.
