The incident was reported to the police via 911, and when they arrived, the young man was taken to nearby Maimonedes Hospital in critical condition. The young man's death was recorded on Tuesday, July 18.

The shooting of the killer was caught on surveillance camera.

According to initial reports, 17-year-old Franklin Delano Roosevelt shot 7 times at young people standing outside the high school. According to Detective James Essig, who is leading the investigation, the killer did not specifically target Faridun. The incident was also caught on a surveillance camera on the street, which shows the killer firing on the street when there were many people. A truck was also parked at the place where he shot.

Firdavs Mavlanov moved to the USA with his family 12 years ago. The father now works as a hairdresser, and his late son also helps him in his spare time. Faridun also practiced judo martial arts.

"It's getting scarier every day. Today my son died, tomorrow someone else's son may die," said the deceased's father.

During the young man's funeral, many media representatives arrived and tried to talk to his relatives. NYT spoke with the boy's father, Firdavs Mavlonov. He said that his nephew told him on the phone that his son was shot. Faridun underwent two operations, but the bleeding did not stop. "Everyone knew my son. The killing of children must be stopped, it is very bad. Please help me," the father of the 15-year-old deceased said in an interview with NYT.

"Our whole family has been devastated. We have lost a very dear person. Faridun was a very nice, calm guy. We ask you to find and punish the person who did this," the boy's uncle, Azod Jurayev, said.

Detective James Essig said two groups of youths had a dispute about two hours before the shooting. Then they met and agreed to sort out. Among those in the other group was the 17-year-old murderer who committed the shooting. When he reached the destination, he took out his pistol and started shooting in the right direction.

Actress Amber Brooks-Wagner, who lives near the deceased's home, said she moved from Harlem to this part of Brooklyn in the hope that it would be quieter, with fewer shootings. "In this place outside the city, you would think that there would be no shootings and violence, but it seems that we have to get used to the fact that shootings have become a part of our lives. But we can't always live in fear," she said.
