Aziz Obidov, head of the public relations center of the Supreme Court, revealed new details about the case of pedophile officials.
It was reported that at the court session of the appellate instance of the Tashkent city court, the prosecutor appealed to the court with a petition and asked to issue a ruling on sending the criminal case documents to the prosecutor who approved the indictment in order to open a criminal case against the defendants on a new charge and to decide the issue of bringing other persons to criminal responsibility in accordance with Articles 416-417 of the Criminal Procedural Code.
The trial panel of the appellate instance satisfied the prosecutor’s request and passed a decision on the criminal case against the defendants Oybek Masharipov and Anvar Kuryazov and sent it to the deputy prosecutor of Khorezm region.
The trial of the criminal case was suspended for 1 month.
It should be recalled that the verdict of the court of first instance regarding the heinous crime committed against children of the family orphanage in Khorezm was adopted in September 2022. By December of last year, the case was reconsidered in the Khorezm regional appellate court. The regional court left the sentence unchanged.
The Prosecutor General’s Office, after examining the legality of the court verdict and the rulings of the appellate court, concluded that the defendants were given a light sentence.
On April 6 of this year, the case was reviewed by the Supreme Court, the part of the sentence concerning Oybek Masharipov and Anvar Kuryazov was canceled and sent to the Tashkent city court for reconsideration at the appellate instance.
