Shavkat Mirziyoyev and EBRD President discuss expansion of bilateral investments and projects
On April 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talk with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, in Samarkand.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the practical aspects of further developing Uzbekistan's full-scale cooperation with EBRD.
The bank's total investments in Uzbekistanās economy have already surpassed 5 billion euros, including about 1 billion euros in the past year. A significant portion of the financial support has been directed toward the private sector.
At the meeting, the results of joint efforts to improve the quality and enhance the efficiency of project implementation were highlighted. The importance of optimizing procedures and accelerating project preparations was emphasized.
The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in key areas such as the development of small and medium-sized businesses, supporting female and youth entrepreneurship, and expanding public-private partnership projects, including in education, water supply, and waste recycling.
Priority areas for collaboration were identified, including programs and projects in green economy, decarbonization, digitalization and artificial intelligence, mortgage market development, transportation infrastructure, and others.
Additionally, there was an exchange of views on the preparation and organization of the Tashkent International Investment Forum and the next meeting of the Foreign Investorsā Council scheduled for June of this year.
