Tashkent hosts a meeting of the Uzbek-Czech intergovernmental commission

The meeting was attended by heads of key ministries, departments and industry associations, as well as diplomatic missions of the two countries.

During the meeting, practical aspects of the implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects in the mining, electrical, agricultural industries, hydropower, production of building materials, and banking were discussed. The parties expressed readiness to build up multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, a meeting of heads of delegations in narrow format was also held, during which Laziz Kudratov and Josef Sikel discussed the practical aspects of fully exploiting the potential for developing cooperation in a number of areas.

“A constructive exchange of views made it possible to identify a number of promising sectors for increasing cooperation and to consolidate specific mechanisms for monitoring and controlling the agreements reached,” the report reads.

Following the event, the minutes of the IGC meeting were signed, as well as a joint “roadmap” to expand trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, which reflected new mutually beneficial projects and breakthrough initiatives.
