OSCE conducts training for Uzbek security personnel on cryptocurrency and Dark Web search

Training courses were held in Uzbekistan. In it, employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service practiced the approaches and methods of anonymity and encryption, cryptocurrencies, and the Dark Web.

Representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and law enforcement agencies of the State Security Service participated in the training courses of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on issues of investigation of crimes committed using cryptocurrencies and the Darknet network in Tashkent on October 17-21, the OSCE press service reported.

The training program is based on materials developed by the European Cybercrime Training and Education Group (ECTEG) and covers a number of topical issues for industry professionals on key concepts and important trends in cross-industry collaboration, anonymity and digitization, and techniques for searching and seizing digital evidence on the Darknet and Tor.

Training participants developed approaches and methods for withdrawing cryptocurrencies, analyzing the operation of blockchain technology, and searching for digital traces on the Darknet network during practical sessions.

“Our Academy strives to become a leading institute for training against cybercrime for subjects of criminal law in Uzbekistan,” the head of the Academy, Yevgeny Kolenko, said.
