Kazakhstan leads Central Asia in average salary levels
Average salary in Kazakhstan is nearly twice as high as in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, with Tajikistan significantly trailing behind in this regard.

As of September 2024, the average salary in Kazakhstan was $817.2. This is the highest figure among Central Asian countries, according to Ranking.kz. For ease of comparison, all figures are presented in their dollar equivalents.

In terms of minimum wage, Kazakhstan also leads the region with a figure of 85,000 KZT (equivalent to $181.1). The rankings for other countries are as follows:
- Uzbekistan — $89.4
- Tajikistan — $54.9
- Kyrgyzstan — $28.3
Analysts also found information on Turkmenistan: the minimum wage is 1,410 TMT (equivalent to $402.9 at the official exchange rate but $74.2 at the "black market" rate).
Finally, analysts calculated the inflation rates for consumer prices in Central Asia from January to October of last year. The highest inflation was observed in Uzbekistan at 7.7%. Kazakhstan followed with 6.6%, Kyrgyzstan at 4.2%, and Tajikistan at 3.2%.
