Three Uzbek universities recognized in Times Higher Education rankings
According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME) secured the highest position among Uzbek universities in the Times Higher Education rankings. It was ranked in the 301–400 group for natural sciences and in the 501–600 group for engineering disciplines.

The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek (NUUz) was placed in the 601–800 group among natural science and mathematics universities worldwide. Meanwhile, the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) ranked in the 601+ group among educational universities and the 1001+ group for computer science and programming.
“These achievements indicate that in recent years, the higher education system in Uzbekistan, particularly in engineering and natural sciences, has gained recognition not only nationally but also internationally,” the ministry’s statement emphasized.
The list of the world’s most prestigious natural science universities is led by the University of California, Harvard, Stanford, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The top IT universities include Oxford, Cambridge, and MIT.
The Times Higher Education ranking evaluates universities across 11 categories. Experts assess institutions based on teaching quality, student and graduate prospects, and other key metrics.
