Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss issues of electricity supply, construction of roads and hydroelectric power plants
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov met with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov on the sidelines of the first economic forum “European Union – Central Asia”.

As the press service of the government reported, Japarov stressed that the launch of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund will have a significant impact on the practical implementation of the agreements, reflected in terms of practical measures (roadmap) to expand and deepen cooperation between the two countries in the field of industrial cooperation, involving the implementation of about 60 projects.
“It is gratifying that recently the Uzbek side has completed the domestic procedures for the creation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek development fund,” he said.
Abdulla Aripov, in turn, noted the commitment to the further development of bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, the intensification of cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere and the further development of trade-economic cooperation.
“The parties discussed the supply of electricity from Uzbekistan, the transit of electricity and natural gas from Turkmenistan through the territory of Uzbekistan, the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, the Irkeshtam–Daroot–Korgon–Kyzyl-Kiya highway, a trade-logistics center in the city Kyzyl-Kiya and Kambar-Ata hydroelectric power station-1,” the report reads.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industry were also discussed.
