Kyrgyz authorities have begun installing barriers along the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Qoshmolo area of the Tört-Gül village district, located in the Batken region. The report was confirmed by 24.kg, citing the president’s plenipotentiary representative in Batken.
The work has started at a strategically important junction – the tri-border area connecting Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, participated in the event via video link.
To support the work in the border zone, a field camp has been set up, special equipment has been delivered, and all necessary conditions have been created for the accommodation and operation of military personnel.
According to the report, the first phase involves the installation of 420 kilometers of barbed wire fencing. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Previously, the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was finalized. On March 13, 2025, the presidents of both countries signed a bilateral agreement on the matter in Bishkek.
