Citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan most often among all foreign citizens in Moscow use fake driver’s licenses, often while working in a taxi.

TASS reported with reference to a law enforcement source.

“Police officers are constantly fighting against fake driver’s licenses, including among foreigners. Citizens of Uzbekistan today are the leaders among migrants who travel around the capital with fictitious documents. Drivers from Tajikistan are in second place in terms of the number of detected forged documents,” the source said.

Less often, fake driver’s licenses are confiscated from citizens of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

“Such fakes are regularly revealed during raids among taxi drivers, which is of particular concern, since all road users are under threat in such cases,” the source added.

He explained that, as a rule, drivers are engaged in falsification of documents, either deprived of a driver’s license or not having them at all.

For all the facts of counterfeiting, the police initiate criminal cases.
