During the training, the special purpose reconnaissance groups rappelled from Mi-171 and N-215 combat-transport helicopters. The abseiling had been implemented from a 25-meter height down to unprepared ground sites, the Defense Ministry of Russia said.
After having abseiled, the special purpose groups explored the area, detected and destroyed a camp of simulated illegal armed groups.
In addition, the reconnaissance groups have practiced the aspects of eliminating a sentry, conducting an observation, a long march to a meeting point.
About 1.5 thousand servicemen of the armed forces of Russia and Uzbekistan participated in the joint Russian-Uzbek maneuver at Termez range.
The Russian-Uzbek maneuver is held on the backdrop of the destabilized situation in neighboring Afghanistan with a view to practicing the repelling of possible threats, providing security and preserving stability in Central Asia.
