Activities of self-regulatory organizations may be legalized in Uzbekistan
The draft law “On self-regulation of subjects of entrepreneurial and professional activity” has been submitted for discussion.

The development of this law is laid down in the presidential decree “On additional measures to attract the private sector in the areas regulated by the state”, Norma reports.
It is planned that the document will regulate the relations of subjects of entrepreneurial and professional activity related to self-regulation with the public, determine the organization and activities of self-regulatory organizations, their composition (participation), legal status, mechanisms of state regulation.
The project provides the following concepts: personal interest of a member of self-regulatory organizations, professional activity, subjects of professional activity, self-regulatory organization, rules and standards of a self-regulatory organization, etc.
So, a self-regulatory organization is a non-profit organization in the form of an association (union), public association or other organizational and legal form established by the laws of Uzbekistan.
Membership in a self-regulatory organization can be based on a voluntary and binding basis.
A self-regulatory organization will have to meet the following requirements:
- association in a self-regulatory organization of at least 25 business entities or at least 100 subjects of professional activity of a certain type, unless otherwise provided by legislation in relation to self-regulatory organizations;
- availability of standards and rules for entrepreneurial or professional activities, mandatory for all members of a self-regulatory organization;
- additional provision by a self-regulatory organization of the property responsibility of each of its members to consumers of the goods (works, services) produced and other persons.
Project document can be changed, supplemented or rejected.
