Raising prices when paying by bank cards to be legally prohibited
Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis in the first reading considered the draft law “On amendments and additions to the law of Uzbekistan “On Protection of Consumer Rights”.

The document prohibits sellers to set different prices for products when customers are making payments by a bank card instead of cash money.
The bill introduces mechanisms for protecting consumer rights when selling goods remotely and using information systems.
It is noted that the powers of the Agency for Protection of Consumer Rights are being strengthened. They will now cooperate with government bodies and civil society institutions to ensure consumer protection, inspect and examine goods, participate in court hearings on consumer protection.
