Tuition fee amounts may change for the second half of the academic year – Ministry

In accordance with the presidential decree of December 31, 2019 on measures to ensure the implementation of the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020”, starting from February 1, 2020, salaries, pensions, stipends, allowances and material support to low-income families will increase by 7%.
Taking into account the fact that 91% of tuition costs in higher education institutions are used for the payment of salaries and stipends, from the 2019/2020 academic year the cost of tuition fee based education is tied to the MMW in the country.
As the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education states, according to the current regulation, the amount of the tuition fee (except for increased tuition fees) may change for the second half of the current academic year, depending on the minimum monthly wage.
“In this regard, additional information will be provided, when changes in the tuition fees in higher education institutions for the second half of the 2019/2020 academic year are introduced,” the ministerial information service said.
