Youth Academy will be created under the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, follows from the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“In accordance with the proposal of the Ministry of Innovative Development, the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, the Youth Academy, not having the status of a legal entity, will be created,” the document says.
First Deputy Minister of Innovative Development will be responsible for the management of the Academy.
Admission to the Youth Academy team, consisting of gifted youth and students, as well as scientists and entrepreneurs under the age of 40, will be carried out on a competitive basis.
The Academy is designed to enhance the creative, intellectual and entrepreneurial potential of young people in cooperation with state and economic management bodies, scientific-research and educational institutions.
The President also instructed to establish the Gifted Youth Support Fund of the Academy of Youth under the Ministry of Innovative Development. In addition, by January 1, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers should make proposals on creating a small and compact Science Park for members of the Youth Academy with modern infrastructure in the territory of the “smart city” being built in the city of Nurafshan, Tashkent region.
