The event brought together senior executives and representatives from prominent multinational companies, including Marriott International, Inc., Citi, Global Data Risk, British Petroleum, Sierra Nevada Corporation, RTX, the International Investment Center, and others.
The participants focused on opportunities to further strengthen economic and business relations between Uzbekistan and the U.S., as well as potential collaboration in various key sectors. Special attention was given to the planning of a business mission by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce delegation to Uzbekistan.
Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Turkey, announced that a visit of around 20 U.S. companies – members of the Chamber – is scheduled soon to Uzbekistan to conduct negotiations on trade and investment projects. The American side expressed its readiness to deepen cooperation with Uzbek partners and create favorable conditions to attract more U.S. investment into Uzbekistan.
A key highlight of the discussions was the successful conclusion of bilateral talks with the U.S. regarding Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This development was highly regarded by the American companies present at the roundtable. "This is a significant milestone that greatly enhances Uzbekistan’s international economic relations, opening new opportunities for foreign investors and providing further avenues for expanding business partnerships," said Khush Choksy.
During the discussions on future cooperation with U.S. businesses, several strategic sectors were identified, including the mining industry, information technology, agriculture, construction and infrastructure, as well as machine engineering. Participants expressed a strong interest in the business opportunities Uzbekistan offers to foreign investors and emphasized the importance of continuing to develop robust trade and economic ties between the two countries.
The event also featured B2B meetings, where specific projects in these sectors were discussed, along with opportunities for their realization. The leadership of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce reiterated its commitment to actively supporting joint projects and programs, assuring their full backing for American companies seeking to expand business relationships with Uzbekistan.
