In an interview with the Uzbekiston 24 TV channel, Deputy Prosecutor General Shokhrukh Aminov outlined plans to cover at least 40% of the electricity needs of households, small businesses, and social institutions through renewable energy sources, including solar panels and water heaters. This initiative is expected to lower production costs, he emphasized.
The Deputy Prosecutor General assured that the directives would be implemented "unconditionally," highlighting that the Prosecutor General’s Office and regional prosecutor’s offices had gained substantial "experience" in this area over the past year. It was previously reported that entrepreneurs were being coerced into installing solar panels under the threat of power disconnection, a practice which the Ministry of Energy had deemed illegal.
"The President criticized the violations in the supply of liquefied gas to the population by 'Hududgaztaminot.' The Prosecutor General’s Office has been tasked with proposing measures to eliminate corruption in this sector," stated Shokhrukh Aminov.
The Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with "Hududgaztaminot" and "Uzenergoinspection," will develop and present proposals in this regard.
Ilkhom Nematullaev, head of "Uzenergoinspection," highlighted that the main goal of the agency is to conduct energy audits for 400 large enterprises and develop targeted measures for resource conservation.
"Uzenergoinspection," acting on the President’s instructions, carried out a model energy audit at the JSC Almalyk Mining And Metallurgical Complex, the results of which will serve as a basis for audits at other industrial enterprises. Over the next four years, the agency plans to conduct energy audits of 450 enterprises annually. This year, it aims to support entrepreneurs, households, and social institutions in improving resource efficiency, added Ilkhom Nematullaev.
