On November 30, 2018, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Austria Sherzod Asadov presented his credentials to OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger as Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
In a conversation following the ceremony, Thomas Greminger highly assessed the dynamic development of relations between OSCE and Uzbekistan.
It was particularly noted that the priority directions of the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 are fully consonant with the goals and priorities of the OSCE in all areas.
Thomas Greminger stressed that the results of recent visits to Uzbekistan, including his visit in June 2018, inspire confidence in the continued productive continuation of cooperation with the country.
It is worth noting that in 2018, in co-operation with the OSCE, an international conference on the role of young people in preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism, as well as the Asian Forum for Human Rights were held successfully in Uzbekistan.
