Members of the government and deputies held a meeting at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis to consider the main financial draft document of Uzbekistan - the main directions of tax and budget policy. Meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
During the discussions, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber Rasul Kusherbayev appealed to the prime minister to ask the government plans in the near future against the restrictions imposed on the export of Uzbek automobiles into Ukrainian market. The deputy in his speech said that if necessary, the government should establish trade-economic relations with other countries that substitute the import of Ukrainian products.
In response to the proposal, the Prime Minister stated that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlines and pays special attention to the development of mutually beneficial trade-economic relations with the neighboring countries. Therefore, it is necessary to ponder properly in any action to be taken against the applied measures to restrict the Uzbek cars by the Ukrainian parliament.
The head of the government assured that the relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan are working on a concrete solution to this issue with the Ukraine side and sooner or later mutually beneficial decision will be taken.
In early November, it was reported that Ukraine had launched an investigation into the import of Uzbek automobiles based on the applications from “UkrAvto” car manufacturers.
