Two emergency officers in Khorezm arrested for bribery
Two employees of the Emergency Situations Department in Khorezm region have been caught accepting bribes. One of them allegedly promised a citizen a job at the regional department, while the other claimed he could obtain a driver’s license through his contacts in the internal affairs system.

An officer from the Emergency Situations Department of Tuprakkala district allegedly gained the trust of a resident from Khazorasp district, offering to help him get a job at the Khorezm regional Emergency Situations Department through influential contacts in exchange for $1,500.
In a sting operation carried out by the State Security Service (SSS) of Khorezm in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the officer was caught red-handed receiving $400 in advance and 1.3 million UZS, with the cash seized as material evidence.
In a separate case, an Emergency Situations Department employee in Shovot district promised a citizen he could obtain a driver’s license using his alleged connections within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, demanding $1,400 and 1.3 million UZS in return. He, too, was caught in the act during a similar operation.
Criminal proceedings have now been initiated against both individuals under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions are currently underway.
