Two citizens of Uzbekistan have died as a result of a stabbing incident that occurred at a fuel station in Dubai in April, according to Khaleej Times.

The conflict reportedly arose between two groups of Uzbeks during a visit to the station to inflate a car tire. The altercation stemmed from a previous personal dispute.

According to the investigation, the two groups arrived at the station in separate vehicles. While one of the victims was inspecting his car tires, he was attacked by a group of men. The second victim attempted to flee the scene but was caught shortly afterward by another group. The stabbing ultimately resulted in the deaths of both Uzbek nationals.

A nearby police officer immediately reported the incident to the relevant authorities.

Dubai police arrived at the scene and, using surveillance footage and witness testimonies, were able to identify the details of the altercation and those involved.

Following a swift investigation, police detained 11 individuals, including the main suspects. Their names have not been disclosed, but it was reported that during questioning, they admitted their involvement in the conflict.

According to official statements, the stabbing was triggered by a personal dispute involving individuals who knew each other well. The case has been handed over to the public prosecutor for legal proceedings.

It’s worth noting that a video of the incident circulated in April, at which time it was reported that only one person had died. In response, Uzbek Foreign Ministry official Akhror Burkhanov warned that the growing number of crimes committed by Uzbek citizens abroad could negatively impact the visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
