The extradition was the result of collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in identifying and transferring fugitives. During a virtual meeting with their Arab counterparts, discussions were held on intensifying joint operational search activities and providing mutual assistance in locating and handing over suspects. Agreement was reached on the extradition of three individuals wanted for various crimes, and it was proposed that a monitoring group meet in the UAE to plan further steps.
In a subsequent meeting with the leadership of the Abu Dhabi Interpol National Central Bureau and Dubai Police, further discussions were held regarding Uzbek nationals hiding or operating in the UAE. In the first part of the meeting, both Uzbek and Arab sides exchanged lists of wanted persons and suspects.
During the second part of the meeting, officials from Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Tashkent reached an agreement with their counterparts on the extradition of 12 individuals sought by Uzbek law enforcement.
“These criminals will be handed over to face the judiciary in Uzbekistan and receive appropriate punishment,” the statement said.
