Jewelry smuggling attempt thwarted at Tashkent Airport
Passengers arriving from Dubai were caught attempting to smuggle undeclared jewelry into Uzbekistan, according to customs officials.

During an operation conducted by staff at the “Tashkent-AERO” Specialized Customs Complex, an attempt to illegally import a significant quantity of jewelry was thwarted.
The incident involved three individuals traveling together on a flight from Dubai. During customs inspection, officials discovered concealed jewelry that had not been declared as required by law.
The total weight of the seized items was 781 grams, with an estimated value of approximately 970 million UZS.
The jewelry has been confiscated as physical evidence, and a formal investigation is currently underway.
