Applicants protest admission exam content, say law questions were from legal codes, not curriculum
This year, 671,397 applicants are expected to take part in the university entrance exams. A Kun.uz correspondent visited several testing locations in the capital to speak with applicants. Many of them expressed concerns about the law-related questions, saying they did not reflect the content of their textbooks.

The first stop was the "Yoshlik" sports complex, where applicants taking the jurisprudence track shared their thoughts. According to them, many of the law-related test questions were taken directly from codes and legal acts, rather than from the official curriculum.
“Today’s exam was really tough. The questions had nothing to do with the textbooks or the official syllabus. They were mostly based entirely on legal codes and laws. As for the compulsory subjects, the math section had only geometry – no algebra at all. I don’t understand why they do this. Last year was much easier. Even after a full year of studying, I came out feeling uncertain. None of what I studied appeared in the test,” said one applicant.
Some students added that the law questions did not reflect the official textbooks, and some were even repeated from previous years.
“There were some from the supplements, I’m not going to lie. Some were from the legal codes, some from different areas of legislation. But it was still manageable. I’d say the law questions were just a bit more difficult than average,” shared another student.
“They weren’t extremely hard, but very few were from the actual textbook. Most were based on legal documents. Hardly any questions involved quotes. History, math, and Russian were based on school-level content, which we had recently covered. Last year, most law questions came from the Criminal Code, so I expected the same this year. I had prepared heavily for that, but only two or three questions came from it,” another applicant noted.
Applicants who sat their tests at “Uzekspomarkaz” also commented that the law-related questions were rather difficult. Additionally, questions from chemistry and physics were reportedly taken from supplementary materials not included in the standard school curriculum.
