Anti-Corruption Agency cancels 18 state contracts over legal violations
In the first four months of the year, Uzbekistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency identified legal violations in 18 state procurement deals totaling 21 billion UZS (approximately $1.6 million). As a result, the decisions to award contracts in these cases were annulled.

According to the agency’s press secretary Sherzod Saparov, the annulled procurements were carried out in violation of the law, and the agency’s intervention successfully prevented unlawful spending of public funds.
Between January and April, the agency conducted reviews and uncovered the following violations:
- The Directorate for the Construction of Business Centers under the Tashkent region administration — 2.2 billion UZS;
- The Entrepreneurship Development Company — 313 million UZS;
- Besharik district medical association — 300 million UZS;
- Dehkanabad district administration — 189 million UZS;
- Department of Preschool and School Education of Ellikkala district — 95 million UZS;
- Digital Government Project Management Center under the Ministry of Digital Technologies — 56 million UZS (involving affiliated parties in violation of the Law on Public Procurement);
- Dehkanabad Potash Plant JSC — 10.8 billion UZS;
- Nurafshan City Medical Association — 1.9 billion UZS;
- Public Works Department of Guzar district — 1.9 billion UZS;
- Public Works Department of Dehkanabad district — 1.1 billion UZS;
- S. Kh. Sirojiddinov Academic Lyceum — 573 million UZS;
- Termez Olympic and Paralympic Sports Training Center — 572 million UZS;
- Department of Pumping Stations and Energy under the Amu-Surkhan Basin Irrigation Systems Authority — 520 million UZS;
- Construction and Public Utilities Oversight Inspectorate of Syrdarya region — 83 million UZS;
- Yangiabad district medical association — 45 million UZS;
- Muynak district administration — 40 million UZS.
Following the agency’s findings, procurement commission protocols that determined contract winners were nullified, effectively blocking these unlawful procurements. The relevant documents have been forwarded to law enforcement authorities for further investigation.
