Government to dismantle unauthorized and non-compliant traffic cameras
By the end of 2025, all radars and surveillance cameras installed on Uzbekistan’s roads will undergo a comprehensive inspection. Devices that are improperly installed – such as on utility poles, lighting equipment, or buildings – or fail to meet technical standards will be dismantled.

Measures will also be taken to prevent misuse of radar equipment by private operators and to ensure the protection of personal data. In some areas with frequent speeding violations, electronic boards displaying vehicles’ current speed will be installed to warn drivers in real time.
This follows a new resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers concerning road traffic management.
According to the presidential press service, the resolution stipulates the following:
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will conduct a full inventory of all special technical equipment located at intersections and on roads by the end of 2025.
Based on the inspection results, any equipment that was installed arbitrarily or in violation of regulations, or that does not meet technical and standard requirements, will be removed.
In locations where drivers frequently exceed speed limits, electronic display boards will be installed to show real-time speed and issue warnings.
Additional measures will be taken to prevent the misuse of special technical equipment by private entrepreneurs and to safeguard personal data.
