Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzaev signed a decree reducing the permissible speed from 100 km/h to 80 km/h outside populated areas.
The decision, outlined in the governor’s decree, aims to prevent accidents in these 37 high-risk road sections where previous accidents have resulted in severe outcomes. New speed limit signs are expected to be installed within the next five days.
According to traffic regulations, vehicles are allowed to move at speeds not exceeding 60 km/h within cities, towns, and district centers, while outside residential areas, the limit is typically set at 100 km/h. In some sections of roads in Uzbekistan’s regions, the permissible speed limit can reach 110 km/h.
