Wage disparity in Uzbekistan: Education and healthcare workers still earn below national average
Tashkent continues to lead the country in average wage levels, with figures nearly double those in most regions.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, the average nominal monthly salary across Uzbekistan for the period from January to March reached 5.79 million UZS — an 18% increase compared to the same period last year.
The highest average salaries remain in Tashkent city, standing at 9.88 million UZS, which is nearly twice as high as in other regions. Tashkent is followed by Navoi region with 7.3 million UZS and Tashkent region with 5.4 million UZS. In the remaining regions, the average monthly salary ranges from 4 to 4.8 million UZS.
During this period, the highest salaries by sector were again recorded in banking, insurance, leasing, and financial intermediation services — 15.84 million UZS, followed by the information and communications sector at 14.81 million UZS.
Meanwhile, the lowest average monthly salaries continue to be observed in the fields of education and healthcare and social services — 4 million UZS and 3.6 million UZS respectively, which fall below the national average.
