Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee: Respiratory disease situation remains stable
The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being and Public Health has denied reports of a surge in acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) across the country.
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Nurmat Otabekov, explained that the spread of seasonal respiratory diseases, including influenza, parainfluenza, adenoviruses, and other infections, is a natural occurrence during the autumn-winter and winter-spring periods. He emphasized that the current situation does not raise concerns.
"Recently, there have been sharp temperature fluctuations, which reduce ventilation indoors and increase the concentration of viruses in the air. However, this is no reason to panic," Otabekov noted.
The specialist also reminded the public of the importance of preventive measures, such as avoiding public places when experiencing symptoms, wearing medical masks, boosting immunity through proper nutrition, and dressing appropriately for the season.
Symptoms of ARVI include nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, dry cough, and hoarseness. During the recovery stage, phlegm discharge and reduced pain while coughing may be observed.
The Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee urged citizens not to panic, to follow doctors' recommendations, and to pay attention to preventive measures to help stop the further spread of diseases.
