Uzbekistan and Croatia strengthen cooperation in labor migration
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary facilitated meetings between an Uzbek delegation and Croatian officials to strengthen cooperation on migration. The delegation also met with recruitment agencies and Uzbek labor migrants to discuss employment opportunities and the rights of Uzbek citizens.

The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Agency for External Labor Migration of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, meetings were held with Frano Matušić, State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Željka Josić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Demography and Migration; and Ivan Vidiš, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Pensions, Family, and Social Policy.
The discussions primarily focused on expanding collaboration in labor migration.
The Croatian side reaffirmed its strong interest in attracting skilled Uzbek professionals and expressed willingness to organize training programs for labor migrants, including Croatian and foreign language courses. Agreements were also reached to streamline procedures for obtaining work visas for Uzbek citizens.
Both parties agreed to jointly develop an intergovernmental agreement on migration and mobility. Additionally, they expressed mutual interest in holding the first consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Croatia.
As part of the visit, the delegation also met with representatives of recruitment agencies and Uzbek labor migrants. Discussions centered on employment opportunities and safeguarding the rights of Uzbek citizens working in Croatia.
