Gas supply to methane stations temporarily reduced

The supply of gas to methane stations across Uzbekistan was temporarily reduced due to a sharp drop in air temperature. UzEnergoInspection explained that gas will only be gradually restored to the methane filling stations once the pressure in the pipelines and installations reaches the required level.

"Between February 9 and 12, due to a sharp increase in natural gas demand caused by extremely cold weather, the supply of gas to methane filling stations was temporarily reduced in accordance with schedules set by local authorities," the UzEnergoInspection report stated.

Notably, on February 10, a rupture and subsequent fire occurred in a section of the Bukhara – Ural main gas pipeline passing through the Bukhara region.

On the same day, the Ministry of Energy announced that the fire had been completely extinguished. "Natural gas is being transported without interruptions via a backup pipeline, and its delivery to consumers continues as usual," the ministry’s statement said.

Meanwhile, Uztransgaz reported that repair work on the damaged section is ongoing. However, no information has been provided regarding the completion or expected timeline for the repairs.
