Uzbekistan to host the 150th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union
Uzbekistan will host the 150th Jubilee Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) from April 5 to 9, making history as the first-ever IPU Assembly held in the Central Asian region. The event will bring together delegates from 190 nations to discuss pressing global issues, including social protection and poverty reduction, human rights, the rule of law, gender equality, and scientific development.

The Assembly, themed "Parliamentary Action for Social Development and Justice," will feature a series of meetings where parliamentary delegations from around the world will discuss:
— Social protection and poverty reduction;
— Ensuring the rule of law;
— Protection of human rights;
— Promotion of gender equality;
— Development of science, technology, and support for youth.
"We will hold open discussions with our colleagues visiting Uzbekistan on all agenda issues and further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation," said Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva.
