The Tashkent MDIA, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, is conducting operations to combat the illegal trade of drugs, psychotropic substances, and powerful drugs. This was reported by the press service of the department to Kun.uz.

During the operation, a 25-year-old man was detained in the Uchtepa district, found with strong drugs and synthetic substances. Following this, investigators continued their probe to identify the source of the illegal substances. They discovered that he had obtained the drugs from a 34-year-old man named Jasur, who had a prior criminal record.

An operational group then headed to the city of Chirchik in the Tashkent region. While inspecting Jasur's residence in the presence of witnesses, they found that he had organized a drug laboratory. Authorities discovered 42 liters of chemical liquids for drug production, 42 grams of narcotics, 21 tablets of powerful drugs, and other evidence.

During the investigation, a man named Hamid was also detained. A large quantity of drugs and potent substances was found in his home in Chirchik, including 435 grams of narcotics.

According to law enforcement, the 42 liters of chemicals were enough to produce approximately 10 kilograms of synthetic drugs. "This amount could have poisoned over 20,000 people. As a result of the operation, drugs and strong substances worth $813,700 were seized," the statement said.
