10,800 individuals received government subsidies under the 'Solar Home' program in 2024. According to the press service of the Tax Committee, the top three regions in terms of payments were Khorezm, Karakalpakstan, and Tashkent.
Launched in 2023, the program provides subsidies for electricity generated by solar panels in residential homes and supplied to the national grid.
The total amount of payments under the program reached 12.18 billion UZS (approximately $939,478), with 7.37 billion UZS paid from August to December. At a rate of 1,000 UZS per kilowatt-hour, this means participants in the initiative generated a total of 12.18 million kWh.
The region with the highest subsidy payments was Khorezm, receiving 2.8 billion UZS, followed by Karakalpakstan (1.9 billion UZS) and Tashkent (1.4 billion UZS).
Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the introduction of subsidies for households installing solar panels in February 2023. Payments are made through the Soliq app to the owner’s bank card by the 25th of the month following the reporting period.
In August, the president instructed the exemption of solar panel components from import duties and VAT. This measure aims to create a more competitive environment between local producers and importers.
