In particular, in June 2024, the Deputy President of the Senate of the Malaysian Parliament, Nur Jazlan Mohamad, visited Uzbekistan, and in July of the same year, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Ismailov, visited Malaysia.
Aripov also met with Dato Ahmad Azam, the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia to Afghanistan, to discuss Afghanistan’s situation and regional security. Both sides agreed on the need for socio-economic recovery and regional integration to ensure security in Central and South Asia and expressed mutual interest in joint educational programs for Afghan citizens.
A meeting with Dato Ganeson Sivagurunathan, Director-General of the Southeast Asia Regional Center for Counter-Terrorism, focused on enhancing efforts to combat international terrorism, particularly countering violent extremism online and promoting reintegration and rehabilitation.
The parties emphasized that only the consolidation of efforts would allow for effectively countering modern threats and challenges.
