The Ministry outlined urgent measures being taken to ensure the uninterrupted supply of energy resources to households during extreme cold.

Recent cold air masses have significantly increased energy demand across the country. Household natural gas consumption has risen by 20% compared to last week, while electricity usage has increased by 15%.

The Ministry highlighted that the severe drop in temperatures has created a surge in natural gas demand, which has strained the gas transportation system. Despite operating at maximum capacity and utilizing planned daily extraction and supply from underground storage facilities, gas pressure in pipelines has dropped significantly.

“Ensuring uninterrupted natural gas supply to households and critical social institutions, including hospitals, schools, and universities, remains our priority. To achieve this, short-term restrictions will be imposed on automobile gas-filling compressor stations (methane-filling stations) in areas with high demand. This will be done based on schedules developed in collaboration with local authorities,” the Ministry stated.

Local and regional administrations will provide timely updates through official communication channels to inform the public about these changes.

The Ministry also reminded citizens about the "Avto24" mobile application, which offers real-time updates on the availability of fuel stations, gas filling stations, and electric charging points, allowing users to monitor relevant information conveniently.
