Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Montenegro were established on December 19, 2006.
Ambassador Shakhavdinov’s appointment marks a series of milestones in Uzbekistan’s diplomatic history. In addition to his role in Montenegro, he became the country’s first ambassador to Slovenia and Croatia earlier this year, presenting his credentials in Slovenia on October 23. Since March 2024, he has also served as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Hungary, overseeing diplomatic relations with multiple countries in the region.
